Staff was helpful permitting an earlier check-in. Also, as I booked it from the USA (Booking.com), they were accommodating in accepting and helping with my mother-in-law's (non-english speaking) arrival, due a long layover at Istanbul. Without speaking Turkish or English I did not wish her to exit the airport.

Second time in Istanbul! Wonderful city - lots to do.
Second time in Istanbul! Wonderful city - lots to do. Be prepared to walk hilly and cobblestoned streets. Public transport (buses, trams, subways) were excellent, economical and efficient.
The city is full of surprises - history that goes back thousands of years, the people warm and the food very tasty!

Wonderful especially for Muslim families.
Wonderful especially for Muslim families. It was easy and affordable to travel on the Metro- we even took the metro back to the airport. We found food prices much more affordable where the locals eat. I think what we loved the most (besides the delicious food) were the people of Istanbul - gold MashaAllah. Their love and kindness for cats and children and their sincere nature paired with the deep Islamic history and practice even in modern day Istanbul makes this a place we would come to again and again InShaAllah.

Beautiful sites, gorgeous weather at the end of May, funny locals, good food, plenty of food and shopping options, it is a majestic city with lots to see. Would recommend seeing the European and Asian side, visiting mosques, strolling around the streets of its different neighbourhoods, recording the number of cats seen, visiting the bazars, and taking the ferry from the European to Asian side.
I ate kebab right next to the Gran Bazaar in a small shop for a decent price and taste, fried fish in the fish market (Asian side), baklava in the Gran Bazaar, Turkish tea in many spots, and had Sarma and Fish soup in the first restaurant you encounter in the street nearby 4 Şeftali Sk.
Best way to get around is by public transport. You have to buy the disposable Istanbul card (it is red) in any machine you will find at metro stations and many tram stops. The card costs 130 liras and you have to top it up. Each single ride for the metro and the tram, and most buses and ferries is 27 liras as of May 2025. Some bus routes can be more expensive, up to 54 liras. Public transport comes with a good frequency, especially trams that cover the historical sites.

I had a fantastic experience at Hotel Bosphorus Taksim during my stay in Istanbul. Its proximity to Taksim Square makes it an ideal location for exploring the city.
Highlights:
Prime Location: Located just steps away from Taksim Square, the hotel is perfect for enjoying the lively atmosphere of Istanbul while having easy access to major attractions.
Impeccable Cleanliness: The rooms and common areas were spotless, ensuring a comfortable and hygienic stay throughout.
Professional Staff: The entire team provided outstanding
Apart from the common comments for the great location, luxury hotel room and features, detailed services, I would like to comment on the Concierge Service they provided which is excellent and amazing, absolutely beyond 5 star hotel standard.
Majed Tezulastiran is friendly, caring, responsible, reliable and professional, the customer service he provided is totally outstanding. He has made Wyndham Grand Kalamis Marina Hotel the best in my heart and the only hotel for my next visit to Istanbul.
Everything was perfect, our stay at the element garden was one of the best things in our trip , the location is awesome in a calm street few minutes walk from Taksim square , rooms very clean with the necessary equipment we even cooked there and could eat in the hotel’s garden , the staff were extremely nice and helpful especially Ella who was preparing very good breakfasts and was extremely nice , I recommend this hotel for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Istanbul
I chose the hotel mainly for the location, close to the Taksim bus stop for the airport bus (I was basically transiting through Istanbul). It’s in a grid of streets with plenty of hotels, restaurants and cafes, and right beside Taksim Square itself. The hotel is fine, fairly small, with clean modern rooms and a good lift. Very convenient and straightforward.
